St. Patrick’s Day 2010!

I know, you all have questions about the strip and St. Patrick’s day in general.
So lets see if I can shed a little light on both for you.
To start, St. Patrick’s day is the MOST BESTESTEST HOLIDAY EVER!
Some people make the mistake of thinking it’s all about some crazy old monk who forced religion on a group of savages.
Some people even think it is about how said savages created a day just to poke fun at this crazed monk.
The truth of it all is nothing to do with that.
The truth is, people like wearing green and talking with funny accents!
That’s why that other holiday on May 5th is popular I guess?
This really is my favorite Holiday.
No, I don’t know why either.
I don’t drink, I don’t dress up (I do wear something green), I don’t talk with a funny accent and I don’t go out because I am afraid of all of the drunks on the road.
So why do I injoy it so much?
I have no darn clue!
I am not even sure how Irish I am in my mutt background of a family tree.
So … yea … it just has a draw to me and I guess that’s good enough?

Now, lets talk about some of the insanity that in sues with this great Holiday!
We of course have Ireland doing all kinds of fun because it’s the national holiday.
A lot of Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and of Course America celebrate it too!
Chicago decides to turn there main river Green for the day, the white house … well it used to anyway … dyes the fountain on the North side green for the day, people everywhere put on green and Boston … well, Boston just takes it to a different level!
So, I am not going to go on to much about the bestestest day of the year, it speaks for itself.

Let’s move on to the next mostestest important thing going on right now.
Kermit is back State side.
Immediately followed by, La Wife and I got some new art for the walls … we need help … also more closet space for when small children come over!
No, it’s not dirty or nasty, just warped and it’s more then likely going to have children stop looking at things the same way.
So, I know this is a short Blog, but go look at my comic strip BarsnStripes.Net and there is a little bit of strange information over there as well.
Nothing related to St. Patrick's day, but somthing fun and strange anyway!
Just a little something to make you say O, Wow and of course What?

Side note, why do we say the Luck of the Irish?
These people have been at war with there own for how long?
They are help against there will by the Queen.
They nearly starved to death as a people.
Then also, most of them can’t go out in the sun because they will burn!
That’s right, Gingers are really Vampires!!!
I had to throw in one bit of strangeness!

Take care everyone, don’t forget that Wednesday you all need to wear green, be nice to everyone like your Irish and of course don’t drink and drive!
Then also, watch out for the morons who are if you have to drive around that day!

Hurray for Kermit being home and the wearin' of the green!!!!!
Wow - I'm glad Kermit's home!!! I haven't seen him in years and I only hear about him through you but I think about him a lot and I hated that he was out of the country . . . and not because he wanted to act like a tourist and see the sights. What great, good news!!!!

Faith and begorah, St. Paddy's Day 'tis a fine and glorious day! We do have a goodly bit of Irish in our ancestry and it's the part I always focus on. I figure when you're a mutt, like I am, you get to pick the part you like the best and pretend to be a pure bred. Even if we're not being shown at Westminster, we all need a pedigree. :-) Well, I mean, it could all be true - just look at my red hair. And I burn in moonlight. My Granddaddy Wilkinson was always called "Black Irish" because of his black hair and eyes and, take a peek in the mirror . . . you have them, too. Clearly, I can build a case for being Irish, over here! :-) And, if there was no other reason to love St. Paddy's Day, there's the corned beef and cabbage menu . . . nothing more needs be said, I think.

Dance a jig; search for a leprechaun; dye something green (!) and eat as much corned beef and cabbage as you can hold - 'tis a fine, fine thing to be Irish!!!
